About The Training

In accordance with its mandate under Act No. 1 of 2024, the E-Government Zanzibar Authority (EGAZ) is rolling out the next phase of Sophos Firewall Administration Training. Following a successful pilot program in April 2025 where 16 officers were officially certified, this training is now being extended to all public institutions.

This training is compulsory. All public institutions are required to nominate a minimum of Two (2) ICT Officers to attend.

Nominated officers are required to:

• Fully participate in the 5-day intensive training
• Sit for the official Sophos Firewall certification exam
• Submit the certification to EGAZ upon completion, to be listed in the national registry of certified IT security professionals

This initiative is a core component of the Government's strategy to enhance cyber readiness across Zanzibar’s public sector under the leadership of H.E. President Dr. Hussein Ali Hassan Mwinyi.
